Heavy rain has flooded parts of Los Angeles a month after major fires engulfed the city and its surrounding areas, The New York Times reported, citing the National Weather Service.
The agency warned residents of a “high risk of flooded roads <…> as well as strong winds or brief tornadoes.”
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also warned residents, writing on her X account that they need to prepare for rain on February 14. “The highest risk tonight is for heavy rain, flooding, mudslides and strong winds,” she wrote. A video she shared on her page shows rocks and dirty water on the road.
The LA Times reported that flooding and mudslides have already been recorded in the Hollywood Hills, Pacific Palisades and Altadena areas.
