Rockwool’s official press service announced the company’s intention to build a mineral wool production plant in Ukraine. As noted by representatives of the company in connection with the growth of demand for products of a company that can no longer block the import of products from the territory of Poland, it was decided to build a plant in the Kyiv region. However, the company’s plans can be called promising only when the situation in the Ukrainian construction market as a whole will demonstrate positive changes. After all, most industry enterprises are idle, they even joke that due to the decline in demand for housing, the demand for coffins increases.
Of course, the humor is black, but there are several points in it that can negatively affect the solutions of the investor. The main one should be considered a sharp drop in the solidness of Ukrainians, which in turn reduces the demand for Minvata and other building materials. As noted by representatives of the company, held on March 15, 2012, meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers and the administration of the Kyiv region, are the first step in the implementation of the idea. Regarding the timing of the construction and launch of capacities at the moment there is no clarity. In fairness, we note that Rockwool International has already planned the construction of the plant in Ukraine, but since that time (the idea was voiced in 2007) the project has not been implemented.
