Not so long ago, the coloring of metal surfaces by water-dispersion paint was not a real idea at all, which was like a dream. The most popular of all human materials – iron can oxidize with water in a fairly short time, and the paint is based on water. Such paints are usually not used for metals. Special coatings that are used to create good protection with a good level of adhesion to metal with excellent anti -corrosion properties. All these tasks were gradually solved by scientists and their solution was not easy and not immediately. Today, in some developed countries, the promotion of this issue has advanced so far that these colors are used in such responsible industries as shipbuilding and automotive industry. Of course, the construction did not stand aloof from such a promotion of the chemical industry. Roof as the main element made of metal (often), plus this is the most complex element. There are three types of metal made of metal – of black iron, galvanized roof and roof made of non -ferrous metals. The high cost of the last group and its external attractiveness will allow it to be excluded from the list of those that will even theoretically opened with paint. The roof made of ferrous metals should be covered with paint simply, in Russia, oil or alkyd paint is used in such cases. Acrylic water-dispersion enamels, and not alkyd and oil paints, can hold out on the roof for a longer time, but such paints are more expensive. In temperature differences, the metal is deformed and the paint located on it accordingly experiences very serious loads, while the main characteristic of the paint is the elasticity. It will save the metal.
Why paint a galvanized roof? The question is of course interesting, but the answer is very prosaic – the thing is that after 10-15 years, galvanizing loses its property, but the paint at this moment can definitely be very useful. The roof at this moment is necessarily painted. Of course, the best option is to paint a new galvanized roof, and by itself simple paint is not suitable for this, adhesion should be even more than in colors used with conventional metals.
