Almost every building creates a base. It is the part of the foundation that protrudes above the ground. The outer side of the base can be at the same level as the outer surface of the wall. In some cases, it can act, and in some – and will.
The first option is very inappropriate and unsuccessful. One of the reasons for this is the ugly view of the house. A more powerful argument in the explanation of this is that waterproofing (in most cases, a layer of roofing material between the foundation and the wall) remains open. In those situations, if the base and walls of the house are thin, there will always be damp on the inside of the walls, and the windows will be covered with condensate.
The best material for facing the basement is the wild stone. True, it is an expensive option and requires the appropriate decoration of all walls. It is clear that the walls painted with limestone will not look with a basement decorated with wild stone. Such material can be used in the design of the style of different rooms, for example, a kitchen that is always decorated with special furniture. It is made by many enterprises. They also produce modern kitchen furniture on order, which in any case pleases different buyers, since they can embody most of their wishes in such furniture.
Experts do not advise decorating the base with silicate brick or ceramic tiles. Otherwise, the disadvantages of this approach will appear in winter. Severe frosts and icing can cause a partial abandonment of glaze from tiles. There is also a probability and falling away of the tile itself. As for ceramic bricks, defects may appear in the first two rows of it.
Also, you can decorate the base by applying ordinary or decorative plaster. Although plaster can be damaged during the winter, its appearance can be returned quite quickly. In this case, it is not necessary to apply supervisor and have unique skills. Another advantage of using such a base finish is a small price of plaster, when compared with other facing materials.
